The RORC Caribbean 600 owes its extraordinary energy, atmosphere and enduring success to the unwavering support of its partners and the spirit of Antigua & Barbuda - elevating the race into one of the most memorable offshore experiences in the world.

Antigua & Barbuda

The Government of Antigua & Barbuda has proudly supported the RORC Caribbean 600 since the very first edition in 2009. Minister of Tourism, Investment and Economic Development, Charles "Max" Fernandez, offers a warm welcome to the hundreds of sailors who travel from around the world to compete.

Antigua is celebrated globally as one of the finest sailing destinations - easy to reach with direct flights from Europe and North America. Antigua is well-equipped for racing yachts thanks to its deep-water berths and exceptional marine services. Ashore, the island's hotels, beaches, bars and restaurants are famous throughout the sailing community for their charm and hospitality. Out on the water, competitors enjoy trade winds, long ocean swells and tactical island wind shadows. The RORC Caribbean 600 is an exhilarating blend of offshore and inshore racing that keeps sailors returning year after year.

Carib Beer

Few traditions are as beloved as the ice-cold Carib handed to every crew the moment they step ashore after finishing the race. Carib provides complimentary beer at the finish, as well as during the Opening Party and Prize Giving ceremonies. For sailors who have just completed 600 demanding miles, that first Carib is more than refreshment; it's a rite of passage and a true taste of the Caribbean.

A welcome like nowhere else

One of the most cherished traditions of the RORC Caribbean 600 is the extraordinary welcome every crew receives when they finish, no matter the hour. Coordinated by Helen Spooner and Mike Wetheridge through the Antigua yachting community, a dedicated group of volunteers stands ready, day and night, with cold Carib Beer, warm smiles, three hearty cheers and a photo to capture the moment. Whether a boat arrives at noon or at 4 a.m., the greeting is always joyful and heartfelt. This spirit of community is one of the reasons the race attracts such a diverse international fleet. Every sailor, from Corinthian crews to seasoned professionals, feel they have achieved something special the moment they step ashore.
