Small gatherings such as the recent regatta at the Whangateau Traditional Boatyard Regatta are of as much interest to marine photographer,Paul Gilbert, as the imminent arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race back into Auckland.
New Zealand's boating community has deep roots and offers an opportunity for all to enjoy the wonderful marine playground that defines us.
Whangateau Harbour is about an hour's drive north of Auckland, New Zealand, close to the fishing town of Leigh. It is home to the Whangteau Traditional Boatyard.
