In time for Summer- Mercury Moving Propeller Alert

If you take your boat anywhere there are swimmers or tow sport activities, then you should consider Mercury’s Moving Propeller Alert.
This high visibility safety system helps swimmers to know when an engine is running and when the propeller is in motion.
On some boats the drive unit is not always visible from the water, and with modern engines getting so much quieter when they idle, it’s not always obvious an engine is running.
The Moving Propeller Alert’s moving lights indicate the propeller is rotating and people should stay away from the transom area.
The device, which has six LEDs, is activated when the engine is started. The lights flash at startup and remain on while the engine is in neutral. When the engine is shifted into gear – forward or reverse – the LEDs flash in a rotation similar to the way a propeller rotates, signaling to anyone in the water the propeller is turning.
The Moving Propeller Alert features special optics which allow it to be seen through an arc of almost 180 degrees. A sensor dims the device at night to ensure it’s not mistaken for a navigation light.
Because it works via the SmartCraft network, Mercury’s Moving Propeller Alert can be fitted to any boat rigged with a SmartCraft-compatible engine.
Mercury’s Moving Propeller Alert increases safety for you, your passengers and everyone else who enjoys being out on the water.
The MP Alert is an excellent addition to:
• Sterndrive and inboard boats with or without swim platforms
• Zeus- and Axius-powered boats
• Tow-sport boats
• Houseboats and Pontoons
• Any boats used around swimmers
