Online Yachting TV Show for Asia Launched – Go Yachting

by Duncan Worthington on 4 Oct 2011
Event Media
Recently launched, the monthly Internet TV programme Go Yachting has an exclusive remit of covering the marine scene in Asia. A recent proliferation of online sailing TV channels sees Go Yachting differentiate itself as the first dedicated to the Asian region and combines original content with modern editing and graphics, using HD cameras, to produce an international-standard IPTV show.

'We are Asia-based and proud of it. Asia is the now and the future, and yachting in the region is growing fast. Through Go Yachting, we want to promote yachting and the marine lifestyle to residents in Asia as well as promote the region to the world,' commented Duncan Worthington, Co-Founder of Go Yachting.

'Opting for an IPTV platform allows us to reach a targeted demographic and video-on-demand ensures users choose the content they want to watch, when they want to watch it.'

Competitive sailing is a niche sport in terms of TV coverage, and the Internet is allowing sailing to reach a larger audience, and events are seeing the benefits of IPTV as a cost-effective way to reach new, targeted markets.

'Our remit is the marine scene in Asia. This will include not only regattas and boat shows, but also the latest happenings in the Asian industry, destinations, facilities and elements of the marine lifestyle,' added Worthington.

'Combining IPTV with distribution through Social Media allows us to provide sponsors and advertisers with a targeted marketing platform supported by detailed, independent statistics, something traditional TV cannot.'

Go Yachting will be broadcast monthly on a dedicated web portal, www.MarineScene.asia. In addition to Go Yachting, the Marine Scene Asia team provide dedicated event-coverage packages. Event coverage to date includes the 2011 Top of the Gulf Regatta, Sawadee.com Regatta Samui 2011, 2011 SEA Property Multihull Championship, 2011 Six Senses Phuket Raceweek, 2011 Thailand Tasar Championship and the 2011 Hua Hin Regatta.
