Paul and Bronwyn Ridgway the new 2011 Tasar World Championships Megan Ridgway
They’ve done it! After an exhaustive Tasar World Championship regatta, hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, UK, getting in a complete 12 races over five days, Paul and Bronwyn Ridgway (AUS) have emerged on top of the results board!
But like any good story, it wasn’t all said and done until the final race had been sailed.
While their amazing consistency had placed them well (they were dropping a ‘6’ heading in to the final race) they headed in to the final race with only a three point lead over second place - Rob and Nicole Douglass, and still had a little work to do. And work they did. Securing third place in the final race meant that no-one could catch up to them on the score board and they finished first place overall.
In second was Rob and Nicole Douglass (AUS) and third was taken by Malcolm and Fiona Davies (GBR).
Congratulations everyone, and a special congratulations to Paul and Bronwyn!!
