Garry Holder’s ID35, ’The Real Thing’, the first boat to enter the 2012 Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta Damian Devine
Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Ocean race starts on 2nd January 2012. The online entry for the Regatta is now live on the event website.

With just under 100 downloads of the Notice of Race since its release a little over a week ago, expectations are building for a strong fleet for the start of the 31st Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Ocean race and the associated five race regatta.

Within an hour of the online entry system going live, defending PHS and ORCi 2011 series champion, RPAYC's Garry Holder and his ID35, 'The Real Thing' is the first boat to enter the newly named Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta.

The competitive pocket rocket has been in Australia for five years and was built by Carrol Marine and is a Nelson Marek Design. It has competed in four Pittwater/Coffs Harbour Races to date and was recently awarded RPAYC's boat of the year for the 2010-11 season.

Holder will also be part of the inaugural Australian Performance Handicap Championship, an exciting, new initiative to be conducted in conjunction with the Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta from second to 6th January 2012.

Racing commences on the 2nd January with the 226nm Cat 2 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Ocean Race. The Coffs Regatta and Australian Performance Handicap Championship continues off the Coffs coast with a combination of windward leeward and passage races, open to Cat 4 yachts. The Regatta concludes on the evening of the sixth with the Prize Presentation.

The Australian PHS Championship Notice of Race will be available later this month.

The Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta will have IRC, ORCi, PHS and Shorthanded Divisions.

Competitors can enter online.
