ACT Capital Insurance Brokers Dinghy Championships 2011

by Nicole Douglass on 5 Sep 2011 Canberra Yacht Club is proud to once again host the annual ACT Capital Insurance Brokers Dinghy Championships over the weekend of the 29th and 30th of October 2011.

We are expecting over 140 boats to take part in the racing on various parts of Lake Burley Griffin.

This year we will host the ACT State Championships for a number of classes including NS14s, Spirals, B14s, and Optimists. Other popular classes include Tasars, Sharpies, FDs, Flying Fifteens and Lasers.

Conditions last year were fantastic for both sailing and sightseeing. The greens at the club are a great place for the whole family to watch the racing, with many other vantage points around the Lake. There are numerous tourist attractions as well as the Civic Shopping centre nearby, great for all the non-sailors.

Excellent accommodation packages are available through the Diplomat Hotel in Kingston, with a 15% discount to CYC members and regatta entrants.
