Hyundai SeasAll appoints distributors in eight major markets

Hyundai SeasAll has made major expansions in its international distribution organization with the appointment of Distributors covering eight major markets during the last quarter - Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the US.

During March, Hyundai SeasAll appointed West Diesel, MIDIF DIESEL, MHD (Mitsu Heavy Diesel) GmbH, Solé S.A. and Performance Diesel Inc., to represent the marine engine distribution and after sales service for Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland, Spain and the US respectively. This was followed by appointments of Tekno-Marine in Finland and MotoLusa in Portugal during the month of May. These appointments expand the company’s distribution network in major European markets and gives it a foothold in North America. By appointing MIDIF and Solé, Hyundai SeasAll has established the foundation for a Mediterranean service base extending from the eastern border of Turkey to Gibraltar. Performance Diesel will give the company its first entry into the US market and will provide coverage in areas of the country where diesel power is most frequently used.

All eight companies were chosen due to their long-term experience in the marine diesel business. MIDIF is the French importer of Mitsubishi industrial and marine engines which are sold under the MIDIF brand. Solé Diesel is the leading Spanish marine diesel supplier and has offered engines under the Solé brand name for over 50 years. Texas-based Performance Diesel Inc is one of leading MAN diesel engines distributors for Gulf Coast, Northeast regions and recently was designated to include the Great Lakes. West Diesel in Denmark is the distributor for Mitsubishi, John Deere, and Craftsman among other premium products. Tekno-Marine is also a Solé distributor and MotoLusa carries the Perkins and Vetus brands.

According to Rolf Belke, MHD’s Senior Manager, but speaking for many of the other new appointees, the Hyundai SeasAll engines fit well into the company’s current product portfolio and will offer MHD’s dealers the opportunity to supply high speed diesels to a boating segment which, up to now, they have not been able to serve. MHD first showed the product at the 2011 Dusseldorf Boatshow where Sascha Sambale, Senior Sales Manager, said that they were very positive after seeing extensive interest from both dealers and OEMs. Hyundai SeasAll’s choice of MHD as distributor for the German market was formalized during a signing ceremony for German, French and US distributorships held in conjunction with a product education session at Hyundai SeasAll’s Korean headquarters.
