Australian born clothing brand Zhik are officially announced as a sponsor of the insurance4dinghies RS Tera National Championships to be hosted by Hayling Island Sailing Club over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd July 2011

Zhik clothing is already hugely popular in many dinghy and Olympic classes and more recently sportboat & keelboat sailors too have discovered the benefits of Zhik’s innovative technologies. Partnering with the RS Tera class enables Zhik to work with the fastest growing junior class worldwide, with an entry expected to be in excess of 100 for the National Championships.

Brian Conolly, CEO of Zhik commented 'We're glad to be part of the RS Tera phenomenon, as we see it as a very cool emerging class. We think this is the beginning of a longer term involvement between Tera's and Zhik. We certainly like to help.'
Ian Jameson, Sponsorship Co-ordinator, 'We are delighted to welcome Zhik aboard as a key sponsor for the 2011 National Championships, it is shaping up to be the largest RS Tera event ever held, and we are sure it will be a tremendous event. Zhik are a natural partner for the RS Tera class, and we look forward to working with them for these championships, and other events moving forward.'

'We are particularly delighted with the support and co-operation that has been received from insurance4dinghies and Zhik, these sponsorship offers will allow us to keep the class affordable and fun, with most of the funding going towards the four UK regions to subsidise additional training and coaching activity from grass roots level up'

The RS Tera class has seen accelerated growth in popularity over the last 4 years and is proving to be a winner with young people around the world, the class has an emphasis on fun combined with competitive sailing at an affordable cost, so it really is ability and attitude rather than money that is delivering results.

The Class has seen their National championships entries rise quickly from 28 in 2008 to 72 in 2010, this could this year when the Class joins the few that can attract 100 boats or RS Tera website
