Mastervolt releases Electric Propulsion at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show

by Andrew Wilson on 27 Apr 2011
Mastervolt inboard electric propulsion motor drive assembly Mastervolt BV
For the first time in Australia, the public at the Sanctuary Cove boat show will be able to inspect a working display of a Mastervolt inboard electric propulsion motor drive assembly.

Eco Boats Australia in association with Power Protection Solutions - Mastervolt Australia supplies electric inboard motors, hybrid drives, sail drives and submersible POD motors up to 20kW or custom solutions with higher capacities. In addition to propulsion, some systems can also supply power to the batteries, battery chargers and battery monitoring devices.

Boat owners are seeing the benefits of electric motors to power new or existing craft. Electric motors are quiet, clean, reliable and economical to run. Especially for displacement vessels such as yachts and traditional timber boats it makes sense to convert to electric drive, as relatively little power is needed to bring a boat up to its ‘hull speed’

Electrics drives can be powered by many battery sources like, Lead Acid, AGM, Gel and Lithium batteries. Also available is the choice of generator options for the long distance cruiser.

All systems come as a complete plug-and-play package consisting of motor, controller, connection cables and display. We can also advise on a suitable battery bank and charging packages.

Please visit stand 161 to see the advantages of Electric Propulsion.
