At the recent Miami International Boat Show I had the first opportunity to meet up with the Galati Yacht Sales team now representing the Gold Coast cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo.

The company was appointed to the Maritimo fold by Dave Northrop, president of Maritimo USA.

Galati Yacht Sales services seven prime locations, covering extensive areas of Florida, Alabama and Texas with its latest branch now opened in Michigan, heart of the Great Lakes region.

This will see the company operating out of the all-new Yacht Basin Marina Plaza in Holland, a township on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan.

The new dealership will focus on new and brokerage Maritimo sales.

Galati Yacht Sales president, Joe Galati said it had recently become clear to the company that there was a strong link between the Gulf coast in the south and the Great Lakes region.

'Many of our clients have dual residences and our goal is to provide our north/south boaters with a one-source option for their sales and brokerage needs,' he explained.

Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter was delighted with the Galati decision to add the Great Lakes region to its ‘empire.’

'This is a positive expansion for us and for Galati Yacht Sales,' he said.

'Maritimo already has a strong contingent in the area and we look forward to this increasing with the expertise of Galati Yacht Sales,' he added.

The new branch will be headed by US industry veteran Brian Dekkinga, a member of the Galati Yacht Sales management team.
