Sabre 46 Salon Express set for launch

The first Sabre 46 Salon Express is scheduled for completion in March 2011, with the vessel expected to debut in Australia before the end of the year.

Continuing Sabre’s traditional styling blended with the latest materials, production methods and modern performance, this latest Sabre is the fifth model to make use of pod-drive propulsion systems. The new Sabre 46 Salon Express will also benefit from more internal space, greater performance, easy manoeuvrability and will be one of the quietest high-performance, bluewater power boats on the market.

Standard propulsion consists of twin Cummins QSC8.3 550hp engines and twin CMD Zeus 3800 pod drives. Zeus pod drives make for the easiest manoeuvrability with touch-light joystick control – the vessel can be taken into and out of the tightest berths with ease by any competent helmsperson.

Modern, high-performance hull design comprising a deep vee, long sweeping spray-chines and a wide beam mean the Sabre 46 Salon Express will have performance credentials well in excess of modern sports cruisers. State-of-the-art vacuum-infusion hull construction makes for a strong and light hull with robust, offshore capability and excellent fuel economy.

The primary social space aboard the Sabre 46 Salon Express is above decks. A spacious deck-house holds the helm area along with the main saloon with seating configured around a large, solid wood table. The saloon is bright and airy with huge upright windows offering all-round visibility. A flybridge is an optional configuration.

Aft is an external deck area that connects with the saloon through large patio-style doors. Whether good or bad conditions, the Sabre 46 Salon Express will accommodate a group in comfort, indoors and out.

The interior layout features two staterooms, each with private ensuite facilities and separate showers, along with a fully-equipped electric galley. All Sabre Yachts interiors are handcrafted using solid cherrywood and elegant upholstery. Teak and holly floors lend to a rich and warm feel. Domestic systems are supported by an 11.5kW Onan generator as standard.

The new Sabre 46 Salon Express is a further evolution of traditional Maine (USA) downeast-style of boatbuilding, fusing modern techniques and performance with a classic look and finish. With six models already ordered, the Sabre 46 Salon Express it is set to lead the way in its Website
