
Eerie heavy sea fog 15 minutes after the start of Wednesday’s Australia Day Race to Botany Bay - Australia Day Race to Botany Bay - City of Sydney Cup, 26 January 2011 Wai Lee
While other yachts enjoyed a fabulous 175th Australia Day Regatta in Sydney Harbour, light fickle winds tested skills and patience of the offshore fleet to Botany Bay and back. The fog finally lifted and a light nor'easter kicked in in the afternoon, taking the fleet on a reaching leg home.
The event, hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, also incorporated the Grant Thornton Short Ocean Pointscore and Short Haul Pointscore races. '
