China (Shanghai) International Boat Show is the most comprehensive and longest established boat & yacht exhibition in China, covering displays of its whole industry chain since its launch in 1996. It's on again, 14-17 April 2011.

CIBS has progressively established itself as the endorser and facilitator for yachting culture in 16 years. CIBS provides a platform for all the industry products, but also continues to further explore opportunities to popularize maritime lifestyle and yachting culture.

CIBS is the only Chinese member of IFBSO, which is highly recognized in its professional field all over the world. We are also audited by BPA Worldwide and awarded with the trade show certificate by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Meanwhile, CIBS is the only boat show in China hosting overseas national pavilions initiated by oversea governmental organizations and associations.

The exhibits profile includes domestic and oversea boats and luxury yachts, components & equipment, water sports/ marina/ leisure and services, tourism. Onsite events include forums and lifestyle experience zone. Additionally, CIBS strives to dedicate to philanthropy cause in China besides its main focus on marine culture.

The annual Charity Regatta raises fund and awareness from society towards disadvantaged groups, but also provides a channel for people to get closer to the nature.

CIBS has witnessed the transformation in the pursuit of life quality. The booming domestic boat industry has given birth to yachting and boating culture. And ultimately boat industry symbolizes a lifestyle associated with luxury, leisure and quality leisure time.

CIBS Annual Award Ceremony has apparently become one of the focal points of yacht industry in Asia-Pacific All awards are certified and supervised by oversea governments and international industry associations, which fully guarantees fairness and openness.

China - The Second Biggest Luxury Consuming Country Worldwide with great market potential

According to the statistics on 2009 Asia-Pacific Wealth Report, the number of Chinese millionaires is the top 4 in the world. China is currently the second global biggest luxury consuming country, and it is expected to be top 1 in the world in 2015. With more and more frequent business activities, yacht increasingly becomes popular as one of the private entertainment and business tool.

Yacht sales regard China as a huge market for middle-to-high grade yachts due to Chinese millionaires’ growing passion. In a 2010 survey that targeted high net worth mainland Chinese with wealth of US $ 1.5M or more, over 50% expressed interest in becoming a yacht owner.

Shown from latest 2010 Chinese billionaire survey report, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Suzhou, the main cities in Yangtze River Delta Area are called as the cradle of Chinese billionaire, which have the majority of the wealth.

Shanghai takes an important role as a financial and cultural center in Yangtze River Delta Area, even in China with her inimitable geographical and cultural advantage.

CIBS is held by Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd.
