In the Farr 40 One Designs, class stalwart Richard Perini, sailed consistently with a second and a first for three points at the end of the day, two points clear of Pittwater boat Buon Giorno, which Stephen Ellis sailed well for a third and second to be on five points.

As always, competition was intense in the Farr 40s with their corinthian owner-drivers driving their boats hard at the starts to gain that vital early advantage, with over-enthusiasm forcing a general recall in the first race.

A vital break at the start give CYCA member Dennis McDonald an all-the-way win with One Step Ahead in the first race for the Farr 40s, winning from Corinthian Doors and Buon Giorno.

Perini, a noted heavy weather sailor, scored a brilliant race two victory from the consistent Buon Giorno, third going to another great supporter of the class, Pittwater yachtsman Marcus Blackmore, steering Emotional Hooligan, with One Step Ahead fourth.

After two races, Corinthian Doors is on 3 points, Buon Giorno 5, One Step Ahead 5 and Emotion Hooligan 7 points.

Fresh southerly winds are again expected for tomorrow’s racing which will see the Sydney 38 and Farr 40 one design classes racing on the offshore Manly Circle course.
