Driving over the bridge the water was like a mirror looking across the harbour to Bayswater and all indications were that the sailors at the 2010 Sir Peter Blake Regatta were in for another drifter. But a foreboding weather system positioning itself just off the shoreline of Waiake Beach had other ideas.
It was all action off the mark boat on the green course with the Optimist, Starling, and Techno boards positioning themselves for the start of the days racing. With enough breeze to produce some competitive sailing the large Optimist fleet signalled things to come with some hectic action around the mark boat.
