RS600 National Championship at Royal Torbay YC, 4th September 2010.

A great turnout of 27 boats here at the Royal Torbay YC.

Day 1 lived up to the forecast of lightish patchy easterlies, which combined with a huge swell made sailing a 600 hard on the knees and even harder on the brain. Winning moves came from both sides of the course up and downwind, with incredibly close racing and places changing ftom top to bottom of the fleet on every leg.

Race 1 saw Peter Nelson score the win ahead of James Mawson, with James Sainsbury moving steadily up through the fleet to take third. Race 2 was won by Giles Chipperfield, with Mawson again second and Ifan James third.
Three races are scheduled for tomorrow, with a forecast of rain and less wind. Welcome to the English Riviera, but it's been great racing so far.

Day 2, 3, 4 reports to follow.
