British Powerboat Festival – Land, sea and air entertainment

Land, sea and air entertainment - Everyone welcome Polygon Marketing
The 2010 British Powerboat Festival taking place on the Isle of Wight over the August Bank Holiday weekend will feature the 50th anniversary of one of the world’s great endurance events, the Cowes Torquay Cowes, with an international line-up of powerboats competing for glory. The fast and furious race action will be supported by off-water entertainment provided by the Festival’s title sponsor, RB12.com.

The action starts on Thursday 26th August and ends with a spectacular firework finale above the Cowes Yacht Haven on the 29th. Over 50 boats will take to the waves during the four-day event complimented by a Lynx helicopter display from the Royal Navy, street entertainment, live music, simulator and road-show from the events charity, the RNLI.

As part of its three-year sponsorship, Lymington-based RB12.com, the promoters of the 2012 Round Britain Land, Sea and Air event intend to transform the British Powerboat Festival into one of the UK’s top sporting attractions.

'This is a landmark event and we want the occasion to be memorable for everyone,' explains Hugo Ambrose, Director, RB12.com.

'Powerboating is action- packed excitement and with so much else happening over the weekend we hope to attract families as well as motorsport enthusiasts to the Yacht Haven where much of the entertainment takes place. As we build to the 2012 Round Britain race, it is important to increase the value of the sport and where better to start than Cowes, the home of world powerboating.'

The involvement of some of the world’s top racers will add an international flavour to the special atmosphere that the British Powerboat Festival creates as competitors and the public mix together in the streets, bars and restaurants.
