Fairline Squadron 65' – named UK's Motor Boat of the Year

by Bob Wonders on 30 Apr 2010
The UK’s Motor Boat of the Year in its category, the fabulous Fairline Squadron 65’. - Fairline wins UK award Fairline .
The fabulous Fairline Squadron 65', from the luxury British builder, has been the United Kingdom's Motor Boat of the Year in its highly contested category, 'Flybridge above 55'.

Visitors to the forthcoming Sanctuary Cove (May 20-23) and Sydney International (July 29-August 2) Boat Shows will have the opportunity to inspect the stunning award winner. There's no doubt the Fairline Squadron 65' impressed the judging panel; 'delivers uncompromising quality and made life on board a genuine pleasure,' was just one comment from the judges.

Distributed in Australia by CRS Yachts, the Fairline Squadron was first seen in Australia last year. CRS Yachts was established in December 2008 as a Fairline dealer and has since added Ocean Alexander to its portfolio.

The company is owned by the Cobra Group, a direct marketing organisation that operates worldwide in more than 21 countries. Sales and marketing director Mark Chapman, a well-known industry identity, heads the CRS sales team.

The Fairline Squadron 65' is claimed as 'a motor boat ahead of its class', boasting amazing elegance, superb facilities, cutting edge marine engineering and equipment, and an interior design with incredible detail and finish.

The interiors could only be described as spacious, with a full-width master stateroom, open plan saloon and superbly equipped galley. It also boasts the Fairline Pilot System, allowing the entire boat to be managed via touch screen, giving total control over fuel systems, water and electrical equipment.

Power to the Fairline Squadron 65 ensures it performs as well as it looks, thanks to dual 1100hp MAN marine diesels. Caterpillar 1150hp engines are offered as an option.

The Squadron 65' is not the only offering CRS Yachts plans on tempting buyers with. With the slightly smaller, but equally luxurious Squadron 55' and the brilliant Targa 58', CRS Yachts is certainly out to impress.

The Targa 58' is an absolutely stunning sport yacht with lovely lines and perfect proportions. It features single-level living and at the touch of a button the huge roof glides open to allow the fresh air and sunshine full access.

Accommodation comprises a superb master and two guest staterooms, all with en-suites. The guest staterooms can be converted from double to twin berth when required. With 38 knot performance from dual 900hp Volvo Penta diesel engines, the Targa 58 is a blue water thoroughbred.

Also scheduled for release is the Fairline Squadron 55', a vessel oozing class and style. The manufacturer claims it boasts the largest flying bridge in its class, highlighted with a full-width master stateroom and luxurious accommodation for up to six guests and a crewman.

With a pair of Volvo Penta 900hp marine diesels in her well-planned engine room, the Fairline Squadron 55' makes for fast and safe passage making.

I've had the opportunity to drive and inspect several Fairline models over the years and have never failed to be impressed, particularly with the meticulous standard of finish obvious on every model.

Whether you're visiting Sanctuary Cove or Sydney, don't miss the chance to have a look at sheer boating class.
