Gadget of the Week- the one-size-fits-all drink holder

by Sail-World Cruising on 12 Feb 2010
No matter what your drop the Ultimate Drink Holder will do the job SW
Everyone knows that the single most important accessory that every boat needs, no matter its size, is arguably the drink holder.

Aware of this vital aspect of a sailing life, innovative company Tallon Systems brings you, hot of the block, a stylish and strong 'multi-holder' that, apart from all its other great features, will fit any size bottle, can, glass or coffee mug.

Tallon Systems, the New Zealand Based manufacturer of the Award Winning Tallon Accessory System, will launch the brand new accessory - that has been dubbed ‘The Ultimate Drink Holder’ - later this month.

The holder is made from durable Zytel™ plastic and its stylish curves will add zing to any boat. The stepped interior means that it can hold almost every vessel imaginable from bottles to cans and tumblers.

A clever cut-out allows the holder to cater for wine glasses and coffee cups too – a trick few, if any, rival products have mastered! The icing on the cake is rubber inserts inside the holder which grip the contents securely - be it a bottle or a coffee mug - preventing slop or rattle when underway.

Duncan Good, General Manager of Tallon Systems said: 'This is a serious product that meets the needs of almost every boat owner, but it hasn’t stopped us having had a lot of fun creating it! I believe there isn’t a better drink holder on the market and this is the ultimate drink holder.

'To help boaties get using it we’ve decided, whilst stocks last, to offer a special launch pack containing one of our Award Winning Tallon Accessory Receivers and a new multi-holder”.

Tallon Systems first shot to prominence in 2007 after scooping the American Marine Writers’ Innovation Award at the International Boat Builders Exhibition in Miami, Florida – then again in 2009 when Tallon founder, Peter Marshall, won the 2009 Ernst and Young New Zealand Master Entrepreneur award.

Tallon distributes products in 14 sailing conscious countries world-wide, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and the USA, and for those who are anywhere near Auckland in March, they will partner with Burnsco at the Auckland International Boat show between the 11th and 14th, where you'll be able to see the full range of their innovative products and systems.

Fortune favours the Beneteaus!
Thank you, Huey… Some sun, and a tad of wind means it is time to go racing... Ahead of the annual Beneteau Pittwater Regatta by Flagstaff Marine the weather had not been all that grand. So, peaks of sun migrating to distinct patches, and the occasional zephyr turning into a waft, then on to a calm breeze was fortunate.
