Hello yachties, want to be yachties and all those who support yachties,

Silver Sails Racing are competing in the Osprey Rolex Cup in St Petersburg, Florida, USA.

Racing commences on Wed 21st Oct till Sat 24th Oct.

The format is double round robin, semis and finals.

This week we are sailing in the 'Sonars' and our team is: Samantha Osborne, Raynor Smeal, Jenna Hansen and local Genoa Griffin Fedyszyn.

We are lucky enough to be sailing with Genoa who we sailed with us in 2008.

Today was registration, opening and practice day.

Breeze was beautiful, a steady 10 knots or so, clear skies and warm temperatures. Practice went well and we all feel comfortable in the boat. Team is healthy and eager to start racing tomorrow. (We seem to be over the jet lag and on US time)

Known to many, this is the 'pampering' regatta and St Petersburg Yacht club has already made us feel welcome.
We appreciate the kindness of Todd and Genoa who have allowed us to invade their house, car and hot tub..... and allow us a place which we can call home for the week.

We value the support of Yachting New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

Regards,

Silver Sails Racing
