Australian textiles company Charles Parsons is one of nearly 57 companies that have submitted tenders for New Zealand clothing brand Line 7.
Line 7 - a sports and casual clothing brand associated with high profile sailing events and the Olympics - went into receivership in May, attributing its demise to increasing costs and a weaker NZ dollar.
Around a dozen retail stores were closed following the announcement and stock was cleared by receivers KordaMentha.
Charles Parsons manufactures fashion textile collections for the New Zealand, Australian and US markets and wholesales other industrial and home textiles.
Andrew Mills, spokesperson for Charles Parson, said that while the company is extremely interested in taking on Line 7 and has expressed its interest in a formal tender, “it is in the hands of the receivers and we can only wait until they are satisfied their job is done”.
Mills said he expected an annoncement within weeks.
