Club Marine Perth Boat Show exceeds expectations

by BIA WA on 17 Aug 2009
Held at the Perth Exhibition & Convention Centre, the Club Marine Perth Boat Show is a major event for the industry. MIAA
Running 12-16 August, the Club Marine Perth Boat and Leisure Show was very well received by the public, according to organiser, the BIA WA.

A new layout, a new mix of exhibitors, some very different attractions and Club Marine’s loyalty enabled organisers to present a fresh look in 2009.

Says event coordinator, Nikki Joyce: 'Reaction from the public was positive and dealers reported strong sales over the five days, with most achieving their sales targets for the show.'

While total sales figures are still being calculated, at this stage it appears that there has been a significant increase on last year’s performance in the area of boat sales. Electronic goods were also highly sought after, with several dealers reporting that they had done exceptionally well. Big Al’s tackle and Rugged Shark footwear stands were very popular with patrons and exhibitors alike and those who exhibited caravans were certainly pleased with the crowd and will be back again next year.

Organisers have already received requests for space at next year’s show from exhibitors who are keen to secure a position. 'There can be no better recommendation than that,' says Nikki. 'No matter what is written about a show, exhibitors and patrons have the final word – they vote with their feet and as a result of this year’s show, the BIAWA is expecting the wait list for exhibition space to return in 2010 and the entry queues to lengthen.'
