Boat Asia allures with Audi, beer, swimwear and belly dancing!

by TMX Show Productions on 18 Apr 2009
The Azimut 47 - Boat of the Year - will be on show at Boat Asia. MIAA
Despite the less than rosy economic outlook, Boat Asia 2009 is sailing ahead, 23 - 26 April 2009, with a slew of innovations targeted at boating enthusiasts as well as those who wish to get a taste of the boating lifestyle.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a beer-drinking competition or try their hand maneuvering sailboats during the “RC Sailing Competition.” They will also get to enjoy scintillating belly dance and band performances in addition to various on-water activities including a floating Grey Goose bar as well as a fashion show featuring the latest Spring/Summer 2009 swimwear collection from renowned Italian label, La Perla.

Those who love driving as much as they love boating will be thrilled with the exclusive launch of Audi’s new Audi Q5 at Boat Asia. This all-new crossover from Audi combines the dynamism of a sports sedan with highly variable interior and versatile options for leisure-time and family use. Best of all, visitors to Boat Asia will not only have the opportunity to get up close to the Audi Q5 which will be displayed within an iceberg, but will also be able to enjoy exclusive test drives of this dynamic, multifunctional and comfortable sporty crossover for the very first time in Singapore.

Those keen to try out their sea legs will also relish the sailing trials conducted by Keppel Bay Sailing Academy and RSYC Sea Sports Academy. Winners of lucky draws will also stand to win top prizes such as a four-hour weekend cruise as well as an exclusive helicopter ride around the island.

Aside from marine equipment and accessories, visitors will be privy to the sleekest and sexiest yachts, powerboats and catamarans from renowned boating brands such as Ferretti, Fountaine Pajot, Leopard, Marquis and Riviera amongst others.

Amongst the stellar line-up of boats will be the Marquis 600 Luxury Yacht. Featuring 60 feet of premium quality designed by renowned Italian naval architecture firm Nuvolari-Lenard, the Marquis 600 represents an innovative new level of yachting combining contemporary European styling with American components and systems.

Another sleek boat that boating enthusiasts can look forward to is the Azimut 47, which was named Boat of The Year by the Genova Italy Boat Show in 2006 and 2007. With its characteristic superstructure windows, the skilful harmony of its dimensions and muscles and the overall dynamism, it gives the impression of movement even when still.

Said Herman Ho, Managing Director, TMX Show Productions, “Despite the current economic climate, there are certainly boating enthusiasts out there who see this as an opportune time to upgrade or buy their first boat. Boat Asia provides the perfect platform for them to check out the latest models and mingle with like-minded individuals.”

Visitors to Boat Asia 2009 will also gain complimentary entry to the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) 2009, Asia's longest running dive exhibition which will be held concurrently with Boat Asia for the first time this year. Showcasing the latest in dive equipment, resorts and lifestyle products, ADEX is set to add a new dimension to this year’s boat show.
