Images from the Yann Eliès (Generali) rescue by the crew of The Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Arunta during the Vendee Globe single handed around the world race.

Acting Sub-Lieutenant Geoffrey Crane maintains close stationing with the yacht ’Generali’ and yacht ’Safran’ during the boat transfer for the injured yachtsman. Support was provided to Yann Elies (the injured yachtsman) on ’Generali’ during the ordeal by another yachtsman onboard the ’Safran’ whilst they waited for help to arrive.
