SeaSuckers - No-drill attachment for accessories

by Des Ryan on 25 Oct 2008
Garmin GPS mount SW
There are as many applications on a sailing boat for this product as your imagination will allow. Called SeaSuckers, they are very powerful vacuum-cup mounts (they are not suction cups), to attach a series of accessories to your boat without putting in screws or having to drill holes.

You could attach winch handle holders, grab bars, drink holders, barbecues, GPS's, cameras, radios - the list goes on - and remove them again without leaving marks!

The vast superiority of SeaSucker vacuum cups comes from their integrated pumps. Once mounted, they really hold - a 4.5' SeaSucker can support more than 100 pounds; a 6' SeaSucker can support more than 200 pounds.

Then, to ensure the ongoing integrity of SeaSuckers, they have a built in safety feature in their check valves. If the red line shows, you know you need to just give your SeaSucker another couple of pumps to get back to full vacuum power strength.

The company also offers a wide variety of accessories, including grab bars and GPS holders, designed to be used in conjunction with SeaSuckers. The products are made with stainless steel and high-strength plastic to withstand the harsh marine environment.

However, you can attach whatever you like, as the SeaSucker custom housing lets you choose between screwing into the standard 1/4-20 stainless steel center insert or back-plating through the slotted holes!

While I wouldn't trust a product like this for attaching vital gear to a boat, in an emergency it could be just the ticket.

Prices start at 48$us - £30 or €37
