Only two months to go until the annual King’s Cup Regatta begins. This exciting event has become Asia’s largest and most popular regatta and is once again set to be a fantastic week with lots of parties and of course some competitive racing.

Launched in 1987 to celebrate His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 60th birthday, the regatta has since been held during the first week of December every year off the west coast of Phuket.

The King’s Cup is not only the regions premier sailing event, but it is also a major social event. During the week long festivities, sailors can participate in numerous festivities and activities which take place on the shore of the famous Kata Beach. Participants can also expect to rub shoulders with at least one or two prominent sailing personalities as the event attracts some of the worlds most experienced yachtsmen and women.

Whether you are an amateur with a bareboat charter or a professional sailor with your own yacht, the regatta has plenty of classes to suit your level of experience and your type of yacht.

There is not long to go now and if you are thinking of joining a crew or chartering a bareboat you will need to get in quickly. Mariner Boating Holidays currently has a NEW Hanse 400 available for charter for this exciting event.
