Torvar Mirsky to contest WMRT Danish Open

The Danish Open is part of the World Match Racing Tour circuit, and will be sailed August 27 - 31 at Frederikshavn, Denmark.

The Organising Authority is the Royal Danish Yacht Club, Royal Match Race Centre and Frederikshavn Sejlklub and the prize Purse is $100,000.00

Competitors will sail DS37's and 12 teams, including six of the top eight from the current Tour leader board, the current World Tour leader, the current ISAF No 1 ranked skipper and four teams representing America’s Cup syndicates, are entered.

The top sailors of the world will be making their way to Frederikshavn for the fifth event on the World Match Racing Tour 2008 - Danish Open. A very strong line up with more than 50% in the top 10 of the ISAF World Ranking and all in contention for the Match Racing World Championship - it’s going to be a really tough event to win. Royal Danish Yacht Club will be show casing the City of Frederikshavn as its new event venue. The City of Frederikshavn together with its fantastic nature will prove to be a fabulous spot for the Danish Open. The city is known to have expansive open spaces and pedestrian streets with beautiful old buildings and exciting architecture as well as good sailing conditions.
