Making the decision of where to spend your next winter holiday is easy when you start to dream of sailing the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef on Australia's Whitsundays.

The Whitsundays is unquestionably the most stunning place in the world for a well-deserved holiday. There are 74 islands to visit, pretty bays to anchor in, crystal-clear blue water for swimming, snorkeling and diving, pleasant bush walks, special resorts with a range of cuisine choices and clear starry nights to enjoy after a full day of doing almost nothing, all to be enjoyed from your chartered yacht.

Whitsunday Rent A Yacht offers the perfect selection of yachts at a very special discount price. Whether you are looking to take time out from the city and a hectic schedule or take the family on a very special holiday sailing or motoring the beautiful waters of the Whitsundays, Whitsunday Rent A Yacht will have the right boat for you.

And now with four new yachts added to the charter family, the company is planning on a very busy winter charter season.

New to the fleet are the Seawind 1160, the Beneteau Cyclades 50.5 and two Beneteau Lagoon 420s.

Seawind 1160

Deni Linforth, sales and marketing manager for Whitsunday Rent A Yacht, says the company admires the Seawind design so much the company now has the largest fleet of charter Seawinds in Australia.

Winner of the 2005 Australian Sailboat of the Year, the Australian-built Seawind 1160 is the newest design introduced to the Seawind family. The 38-foot catamaran is a fast boat to sail and has a lot of good design innovations. High on the list of great ideas on board the 1160 is the huge entertaining and living area.

'They have introduced some great space innovations into the design of the 1160 like the way the saloon can be isolated or opened up into the cockpit. The door is tri-fold, that is it folds into three, and winches up into the coach house roof opening, up the whole cockpit area into the saloon area,' Linforth says.

Other design features are the inclusion of a filter in the fresh water system helping to make the water taste even better and improvements to the fridge/freezer capacity. 'The freezers really do freeze', Linforth says.

The 1160 can accommodate a maximum of eight passengers in its three double cabins. It will be available for charter from the start of July.

Beneteau Cyclades 50.5

The luxury Beneteau Cyclades 50.5 will also be ready for charter from July. It will be the largest monohull yacht in the charter fleet. [Sorry, this content could not be displayed]
Catering for up to 10 people, this stunning yacht has four double cabins, one twin-bunk cabin and a crew cabin in its forepeak. When it comes to a holiday, this yacht offers luxury, comfort and space at its best.

The yacht has a double helm, a comfortable cockpit perfect for entertaining, lazing around and for working the boat when under sail.

'These boats are worth just short of $1m. It means eight or ten people can go out and enjoy these boats for around about a $100 or $150 per head per day. Guests can experience that ultimate luxury at a very affordable cost. Being able to accommodate large numbers in comfort on board makes it a very viable proposition'

Beneteau Lagoon 420

Brand-new and ready for charter in early August, the Lagoon 420s are in high-demand. They can be enjoyed as a power boat or sailing catamaran.

The yacht has wide decks perfect for enjoying a lazy afternoon at anchor off one of the Whitsunday islands. Inside the saloon is spacious, light and airy and the gallery set-up makes it a pleasure to use.

One of the special features of the Lagoon 420 is the cabins. 'It has a luxury fit-out and the accommodation is equal distribution which is quite important since people are chartering these boats between $1300 and $1500 per day. With four couples sharing the boat and costs they would obviously like to also have an equal share of the accommodation space.' The Lagoon 420 achieves this with four cabins and four bathrooms.

The two new 42-foot catamarans will soon become the stars of the Whitsunday Rent A Yacht fleet.

Not sure about how yacht chartering works ?

Whitsunday Rent A Yacht has released a brilliant new information tool for all their guests. The Area Briefing DVD, provided to guests well prior to them flying into the Whitsundays, shows all the technical details of how to enjoy bare-boat chartering. It is good way to prepare for the charter and compliments the three-hour briefing all guests receive on taking charge of their charter vessel. The DVD also shows some of the beautiful places charterers can visit as part of their Whitsunday experience.

Prospective charters can also request a free copy of the DVD by calling the Whitsunday Rent A Yacht office.

Brilliant deal, but only until 30 June

If all this tempting new-boat news hasn’t got you on the phone to Whitsunday Rent A Yacht as yet, perhaps the chance to make a big saving on the cost of chartering any of the boats in the fleet, including the new additions, might just be what makes you pick up the phone. But, you better move quickly.

Up to 30 June this year Whitsunday Rent A Yacht has slashed 10 per cent off the cost off all full charter costs for travel at anytime, including peak times.

'Normally we don’t discount in peak times, but this is a little last minute thing. If people want to make a quick booking, say even over the Christmas holiday period, if they are quick, they can secure the saving.'

There are also available three-night specials in July and August and just a few spots lefts for charters in September and October.

So, what are you waiting for ? Book now.
