Fairline Sydney, a division of the Chapman Marine Group, will debut the latest creation from UK builder Fairline Boats at the forthcoming Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 22-25). The vessel in question is the Targa 64 ‘Gran Turismo’, 19.5-metres of unabashed luxury and 35-knot performance.
Although it takes some of its features from the smaller Targa 62 GT, the new model included what Fairline terms 'yet more exciting engineering and design developments.'
These include an all-new retractable roof with pneumatic seal, claimed to be the most robust system currently available, as well as the largest, single unsupported windscreen of its type in the world.
Mark Chapman, CEO of the Chapman Marine Group, described Australia’s Gold Coast as a 'great place' to debut the vessel.
'The Targa 64 GT was launched to great acclaim in Europe and we’re looking forward to similar success when we introduce the boat to our clients at Sanctuary Cove,' he said. This sophisticated sports cruiser has it all; offering six to seven berths, a magnificent, full-beam master stateroom amidships with a unique en-suite.
It boasts what has been described as 'an electro-opaque partition', which changes the glass from opaque to transparent at the flick of a switch.
The accommodation includes a forward stateroom, with an oversized double berth and en-suite and a twin side-by-side port cabin that can easily convert to a double berth when required. An additional aft crew cabin is an available option.
For those who like to entertain on board, Fairline has created a functional outdoor cockpit with a galley bar and extensive seating and dining facilities.
This is complemented by a luxurious deck saloon hosting an electrically- operated table, forward L-shaped seating and a stylish sideboard that houses icemaker and bottle glass and cutlery stowage. The sumptuous saloon also boasts the latest LCD television, a DVD/CD audio system and a feature skylight with electric blinds.
From the deck saloon/helm station, there is wide atrium-style access to the lower saloon and a galley area equipped with everything an owner could require.
Full headroom, fridge/freeze, microwave oven, dual sinks, optional dishwasher and generous stowage are among its features.
The Targa 64 GT also offers generous sunbathing areas, a telescopic swim ladder to the aft platform and a ‘garage’, complete with a winch system for a PWC or inflatable. That new retractable roof system has been subjected to 7500 cycles, the equivalent to 32-years use, with no engineering problems encountered!
With its legendary sea-keeping ability, through hull exhausts and greatly reduced noise and vibration, the Targa 64 offers exceptional marine engineering and equipment specification. Capable of 35-knots with its dual MAN 1100hp CRM diesels, the Fairline 64 Targa GT is not just a ‘pretty face’, she’s a performer to boot.
