Going, going, gone! America’s Cup online auction

America's Cup Management is selling of some of the equipment used during the 32nd America's Cup.

The auction will be held exclusively online and will include - 8 catamarans used by the umpires, 18 Rayglass RIB, designer furniture and memorabilia and the AC class boat GBR 44.


GoIndustry-DoveBid, global leader in the valuation and sale of surplus industrial assets, has been chosen by America’s Cup Management to conduct the sale of part of the assets used during the past America’s Cup competition held in Valencia, Spain last July 2007.

Highlights of the assets to be sold are eight F. Pajot catamarans used by the umpires, 18 Rayglass RIB, designer furniture and memorabilia that will include pieces of the main sail belonging to Alinghi and autographed by the crew of the current defender. Also, this auction will offer the AC class boat GBR 44.


The auction will be held exclusively online through the websites www.32acauction.com and www.goindustry.com

Registration for bidding will be through GoIndustry’s website www.goindustry.com and bidding will close on 8 May 2008.

This auction follows the previously held asset sale last September 2007 managed by DoveBid, now merged with GoIndustry to form GoIndustry-Dovebid, a worldwide leader in industrial asset auctions.

The previous auction was an outstanding success with 98% of all items on auction sold. A total of 9.300 people participated in the bid from 37 different countries. A total of 30.636 bids were placed with 2.010 bidders online simultaneously at a given moment of the auction.
