The 2007/2008 season started in the best possible way for Pershing at the Düsseldorf Boat Show.

Together with the champion of sales Pershing 56’, which appeared with completely new interior finishes, the great Italian shipyard’s style and technology ambassador in the world, the Peshing 72’, was displayed for the first time in Germany.

During the boat show, the Pershing 72 was awarded the title of “European Powerboat of the Year 2008” (in the category over 50 feet) repeating the success of the Pershing 62 in 2005.

At a gala dinner in front of over 300 distinguished guests the Pershing Founder & Chairman, Tilli Antonelli, accepted the award which was established by the leading European powerboat magazines.

The selection was made from 90 European powerboats launched in the previous year in four different categories of length. Safety, workmanship, driving characteristics, handling and performance, room layout, price/performance ratio and design were all examined thoroughly by a jury of powerboat magazine editors and professional test drivers.

The Pershing 72 is pure innovation where painstaking attention was paid to design, a high level of technology and a revolutionary interior layout that has completely changed the concept of life at sea.

With a radically new hull profile by yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni and continuous consultation with the Chairman of Pershing, Tilli Antonelli, the Pershing 72 presents herself as a forerunner from every point of view.

Advanced technology is paramount on this new model. The yacht has a sleek design with a hard top that is a sunroof and slides open in both the saloon and the cockpit. There is a glass partition between the cockpit and the salon to create one large indoor/outdoor environment. The cockpit includes the sundeck with a large sofa and a foldout table.

There is a full beam master cabin with a king size bed and a bathroom with a shower which is amazingly bright and sunny thanks to two special open-view windows offering spectacular sea views.

There is also a guest cabin with twin single beds and a third stowaway berth and a VIP cabin with one large bed and an en-suite bathroom. The crew area has a small living room and a cabin with two beds.

The garage has an area that can be lowered into the water and can store both a tender and a jet ski.

The yacht uses two MTU 1823hp engines and can hit a top speed of 45 knots.

The furnishings and finishes, the seating and leather ceiling panels were all designed in partnership with prestigious company Poltrona Frau.

The “European Powerboat of the Year” award is yet more evidence of how the market continues to affirm Pershing’s well-merited position as an unquestioned leader in international yachting.
