INTERNATIONAL PAINTS PORT HACKING - BATEMANS BAY COASTAL REGATTA 200

by John Weidemier, on 12 Nov 2001
RMYC Port Hacking's Sirocco approaches the sea mark. John Weidemier
Regatta chairman Ray Cranfield on behalf of Batemans Bay Sailing Club and RMYC Port Hacking, today named International Paints as the major sponsor for the inaugural
Port Hacking-Bateman¹s Bay coastal regatta.

Ray said, 'Sponsorships are difficult to come by in the present business climate and the regatta committee is very pleased to have secured such a prominent marine
sponsor”

'I believe the Bateman's Bay and the RMYC Port Hacking RMYC sailing clubs need to be congratulated on their joint initiative in creating this regatta, one I’m sure will
entice many club yachties, and International Paints are please to be associated with this regatta.' Murray Dixon Marketing Manager International Yacht Paints Australia.

Ray continued “ From the inquiries and entries coming in, the concept an offshore regatta in the Christmas/January holiday period specifically for ‘family club yachts¹,
has created substantial interest amongst Sydney and NSW South Coast sailors'.

Whilst entries will be accepted to 30th November, skippers and owners are being encouraged not to wait until the deadline.

Ray advised skippers to get entries in early as space is limited at Bateman’s Bay and acceptance may come down a 'first in first served' basis.

The inaugural Port Hacking-Bateman¹s Bay Coastal Regatta will commence in Port Hacking on Wednesday 2nd January 2002 with two local races in Bate Bay, off
Cronulla, and social events at the RMYC Port Hacking club. The 120 nautical mile passage race south from Port Hacking to Bateman¹s Bay will start on Friday 4th
January.
The starting line will be in the Hacking estuary between Bass and Flinders monument and Bundeena, and the view of the start from the monument promises to be an
action packed and colourful spectacle.

At the Bateman¹s Bay end 3 events will be held in Bateman¹s Bay and the Bateman¹s Bay Sailing club will host social events organised in the town.
A post regatta bonus is the opportunity to relax and enjoy the leisurely cruise back up the south coast from Bateman¹s Bay, Ulladulla, Jervis Bay, Crookhaven,
Kiama, and Wollongong The south coast has beautiful beaches, quiet anchorage¹s and interesting harbours.

Full coastal regatta entry is $200 for this family yacht club racer event.

Notice of race and entry documentation for the regatta is available via the RMYC website at………..www.rmyc-porthacking.com.au or at

www.sail-world.com/porthacking

or by contacting RMYC Port Hacking on (02) 9523 9300.
