The long running duel between Syd Fischer and Roger Hickman over the prestigious CYCA Bluewater series continued this weekend in the Sydney to Hobart qualifier, the Cabbage Tree Island race.

Ragamuffin took out the IMS division from SAP Ausmaid after the two boats streeted the hull hulled Sting (Yendys) in the 24 hour race.

Howard de Torres IMX-40, the IMS winner in last years Strathfield Pittwater to Coffs Harbour series was sixth ahead of Ed Psaltis and Bob Thomas, who were backing up after their Gosford to Lord Howe race.

Scott Wheelhouse's Sea Jay was next ahead of Andrew Lygo's Farsst Forward, and then was Rod Skellett's Krakatoa. When the provisional results were posted Red Rock Communications, Lady Penrhyn and Zeus II were yet to finish.

In the IRC Cape Byron series. SAP Ausmaid scored above Ragamuffin with Ausmark, then Nips N Tux.

Richard Holstein and Craig Malouf, preparing for a southern campaign scored well with their Sydney 38 Next, crossing the finish line at 2:21am this morning.
