Over 40 years, the Sydney International Boat Show, has seen many unusual events. But when Martin Cross asked if he could marry his fiancee on a luxury Riviera boat during the Show, it was a great surprise and delight for the organisers.
Martin made a special request to marry his fiancee Michelle Ladner on board a luxury Riviera 4700 Sport Yacht in the middle of the massive Sydney Boat Show marina display on Saturday night.
Of course, both the organisers, the New South Wales Boating Industry Association and Australia’s largest luxury boat builder, Riviera, were quick to say 'Yes'.
Martin and Michelle from Adelaide flew into Sydney on Friday and inspected the Riviera 4700SY late in the afternoon and declared it exactly what they were looking for as a place to exchange vows.
The couple also spent some time on the Riviera display 'shopping' for a new boat to replace their 38-foot Mariner cruiser built by Riviera.
Both Martin and Michelle were particularly impressed by the new Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion.
'It will be really easy to control,' said Martin.
