Whitsunday Rent A Yacht at Sydney Boat Show

The spacious Perry 43 catamarans are a dream to charter in the Whitsundays Whitsunday Rent A Yacht WRAY http://www.rentayacht.com.au
Whitsunday Rent A Yacht’s stall at the Sydney International Boat Show has been swamped with customers taking advantage of great charter specials. The boating holiday specials are only being offered for the duration of the show, 2nd-7th August, and include substantial discounts on yachts, catamarans and power boats. You can find Whitsunday Rent A Yacht in Hall 1 – Stand 132 in the main hall.

We managed to speak to Deni Linforth briefly in between serving clients at the Whitsunday Rent A Yacht stall. She said that she was overwhelmed by the response to the boat show specials and has already taken a number of bookings.

‘We’re doing some terrific specials. We’re offering up to 30% discount on boating holidays in the Whitsundays. For the 30% discount, that will be going for 10 nights and paying for 7.’

A 10 night mid season holiday on a Bavaria 36 usually costs $610 per night. With the 30% discount people will be paying just $427 per night.

‘This boat will take up to 6 people comfortably because it’s got 3 double cabins. So it’s down to just over $71 per head a night for a boating holiday in the Whitsundays.’

‘This is not just a boat for cruising around. This is their accommodation, which is very comfortable and fully equipped with pressurised hot water, showers, and a fully equipped galley is just some of the gear provided. There’s also a gas BBQ on the stern where you can cook that fresh fish you’ve just caught. The boat is not just your accommodation it’s also your transportation to adventure so you can visit and explore as many of the 74 tropical islands in the Whitsundays group as you wish.'

If you don’t fancy a sailing holiday, especially if you have non-sailing family and friends on board, Whitsunday Rent A Yacht has a large fleet of power boats available for charter. A particularly popular is the Fairway 36 which normally costs $625 per night to hire.

‘We’re offering the Fairway 36, if they’d like to go for the 10 nights, for $437.50 per night. That boat will take up to 7 people, at our special offer that down to $62.50 per person a night and that’s a great value holiday.’

If you can’t get 10 days off for a tropical holiday, but would still like to experience crystalline white sand and magnificent aqua water, Whitsunday Rent A Yacht can still offer you a Boat Show special.

‘We’re offering up to 25% on 7 nights at certain times of the year. An even if you can’t go for that long, we can certainly have a look at when you want to go and what we can do for you. It’s well and truly worth coming and having a talk to us at our stand.’

Whitsunday Rent A Yacht is based at Shute Harbour and they have a fleet of 35 yachts and powerboats available for charter. Their base is easy to access via either the mainland Proserpine airport or the airport on Hamilton Island. Many people take advantage of the yacht delivery option where for a nominal fee Rent A Yacht can meet you at Hamilton Island Marina with your charter boat. Or it’s easy to catch the ferry across to Shute Harbour. If you arrive at Proserpine Airport: ‘we can organise a shuttle bus , hire car or even a limo to bring them down to Shute, It’s about a 40 minute drive.’

Deni Linforth has been involved with the charter boat industry in the Whitsundays for over 25 years. She says that people fall in love with the natural beauty of the landscape and the laid back lifestyle. Some people first visit the islands as children and then return years later with their own families. Everybody has at least one magical childhood seaside holiday in their memory, and for many people it’s a Whitsunday island they treasure.

‘It’s a lovely family holiday. The age group starts from one day up to 100 years if they want to. It’s a very protected area and there’s so much to see and do. We’ve actually had parents come off their charter boat and say it’s the first time they’ve been on holiday with the kids and the kids have not said ‘Mum and Dad: I’m bored.’

‘There are so many things for kids to do. Apart from making their own fun, and exploring, swimming and fishing, they’ll interact with other children of their own age on other boats. The social side too is great fun for them too.’

If people do fancy a change of pace, maybe after a week or two on the boat, there are a number of luxurious resorts dotted throughout the islands.

‘You start at the top with Hayman Island, coming on down you to South Mole and Daydream Island, of course Hamilton Island then Long Island and Palm Bay, and towards the bottom of the group there’s Lindeman Island.’

Some charterers combine their time spent on a yacht with time spent in a resort, others visit resorts just for a night out, to top up their supplies or to enjoy the five star facilities.
Deni expects that the opening of Qualia on Hamilton Island will bring a new standard of luxury to the islands: ‘it sounds like its going to be an absolutely magnificent resort.’

Even if you don’t have a boating holiday planned, you should pop in and have a chat with Deni and the team at Whitsunday Rent A Yacht. As she says:

‘There’s really a holiday to suit everybody in the Whitsundays. We think the best way of doing it is on your own private charter boat where you can cruise and choose and do things at your own pace.’

‘I don’t think that it would be too hard to convince people that we have the perfect holiday for them.’
