BMW ORACLE Racing announced today that Chris Dickson has resigned as CEO of the team effective immediately. In the interim, the current management group will continue to control the day-to-day running of the team.

Dickson was appointed CEO of BMW ORACLE Racing for the 32nd America’s Cup. Following the team’s exit from the Louis Vuitton Cup semi-finals, he directed the debrief process up to his departure.

'After four years of intense effort and at the conclusion of our participation in the current America’s Cup cycle, I have decided to step aside,' said Dickson. 'Rather than see out the final weeks of my contract, I have decided that leaving now will allow both me and the team to move on and make plans for the future.

'I look back on the past four years with pride at what BMW ORACLE Racing achieved. We took on a leadership role as Challenger of Record and helped create a new era of the America’s Cup, with more regattas and a much higher global profile. BMW ORACLE Racing has a solid foundation for continuing into the future and I wish the team every success.'
