Brighton Star leads Farr 40 division at Hahn Premium Race week.

by Rob Kothe on 21 Aug 2001 David Gotze, whose Melbourne boat Brighton Star now leads the Farr 40 class with a second this morning and a win this afternoon in the two windward leeward races explained that clear air and finding the right approach to dodge the incoming and outgoing traffic has been the most important factor in the racing so far.

'In the first race today we were caught out by the shift at the start. For the first lap we were still last in the fleet, then we worked the shifts and the corners well coming up to sixth and really moved forward on the last run to finish second. In the second race this afternoon, we managed to start well, set ourselves up carefully for the roundings and cleared out by ninety seconds.'
