Sunday JAM Session - Cleveland Yacht Club QLD

On the FIRST SUNDAY of every month, join us for a FUN yacht race off Cleveland Pt.

Just Jibs/Genoas and Mains, no extras.

Start time: 11am Scratch (Handicap Start) on the 1st Sunday of every month
Start Line Location: East of Cleveland Yacht Club
VHF Communications: VHF 11 from 9am on the day of
event Call Sign ‘JAM SESSION’
Registration: At ICON between 9am & 10am or
on VHF 11 between 10 & 10:30am
Cost: $10 per event to cover running costs
Presentation: Join us back at Icon Bar after
racing for presentation and drinks
Prizes provided by ICON BAR
1st: Bottle of Champagne
2nd: Bottle of Wine
3rd: Can of Bundy & Cola and 5 straws
There will also be a prize for closest to start time – TBA

COURSES: (dependant on wind strength, direction and tides)
Course 1: Around Peel Island Clockwise
Course 2: Around Peel Island Anti-Clockwise
Course 3: Around Hope Banks leaving marker to starboard
Course 4: Around Marker Buoy to be laid by CYC
(The days course will be chosen to allow everyone to finish within 3 hrs)

Starts will be the same as WAGS at Manly where you are assigned a time to start according to your boat speed.

Slowest boats go first with the quickest boats last. So it doesn’t matter what craft you have, be it quick or slow, join in on the fun. First Race is on November 5th. Before your first race, please be sure to call Ian or Dave so we can get you to sign a Waiver Form and organize your handicap.
