Crebbin leads opening day of Eight Metre Worlds

Phil Crebbin helming Hollandia won the first race of the Eight Metre International World Championship 2006 Chopard - Races being held at the Lindauer Segler-Club on Lake Constance for the first time in its history.

The Lindauer Segler-Club (LSC), founded in 1889, is located on the Island of Lindau and has a long tradition with the Eight Metre - Class. Already in 1910, The first Eight Metre was built for the LSC in 1910, and up to this days the Club owns Bayern II, one of the last original First Rule Eight Metres. Together with Zilverwiek and Elfe II three Eight Metres are now in the club.

Racing will take place throughout the week, with the final race on Friday.
