Ian Frith, former managing director and founder of IC Frith & Associates Insurance Brokers, has become CEO and the major shareholder of Nautilus Marine Underwriting Insurance Agency.
Twelve months ago Mr Frith sold his company IC Frith & Associates but has remained its chairman.
On his big stride back into daily operations, Mr Frith said “After spending over 35 years of my working life in insurance the opportunity arose where I could come back into marine insurance, which is a passion of mine.”
In following his “passion” Mr Frith acquired IC Frith & Associates’ shareholding in Nautilus Marine. He and his business partner the Hollard Insurance Company now become the major shareholders in Nautilus Marine.
IC Frith & Associates will continue to support Nautilus Marine, but has chosen to focus on its core business activities and growing its business book.
Mr Frith said: “This mutual desire from both parties resulted in a win-win for all concerned.
“What a success story Nautilus Marine is. In 12 months this company which started with 3 highly skilled people now employs 13 staff and has opened offices in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.
”Nautilus Marine is committed to the broker market and could insure virtually any pleasure craft or charter boat risk in Australia.
“The high level of expertise that exists within the business gives brokers a market for unique risks like, blue water cruising, blue water racing such as the Sydney to Hobart and high performance boats,” he added.
Nautilus Marine recently successfully launched its new “Master Mariner” up market policy aimed at owners of boats worth more than $1 million, that provides complete peace of mind covering expensive personal effects including those of guests, fine wines, treasured artworks, the latest entertainment equipment, laptop computers, expensive house wares, manchester, travel home assistance and ambulance costs.
