2017 Youth RS:X World Championship Jacopo Salvi
Among men Sil Hoekstra (NED),Tom Reuveny (ISR) Daniele Gallo, Luca Di Tomassi, Andy Brown (GBR),Zhaoguan Dong (CHN), Geronimo Nores (USA),Yoav Cohen (ISR),Nicolo Renna, Aleksander Przychodzen (POL),Fernando Lamadrid Trueba (ESP) reached the final race and will compete for the top ranks. In the female league the best racers were Katy Spychakov (ISR), Maya Morris(ISR),Olivia Rosique (FRA),Erin Watson (GBR), Rina Niijima (JPN), Giorgia Speciale, Aikaterini Divari (GRE),Kazami Matsuura (JPN),Islay Watson (GBR), Thais Royer De Vericourt (FRA), Alessandra Papitto, who get access to the final and will fight to the last breath and gust of wind.

Under the blessings of current vice president of CONI Alessandra Sensini (Gold medal at Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, Silver at Beijing 2008, two bronze medals at Atlanta 1996 and Athens 2004) and of the strong wind, the Rs:X Youth World Cup taking place on the waters of the Garda Lake and organized by Circolo Surf Torbole continues in an atmosphere of healthy competition. It was another exciting day for the 200 athletes hailing from thirty nations, who have been striving to conquer the title of Olympic class Rs:X youth champion since the 24th of June.

This competition is an important accomplishment for them, and represents the perfect moment to get noticed and show they are ready to enter their respective national teams for Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Italian athletes are giving an excellent performance and showing exceptional athletic talent. Foreign ones though are no less tough, racing doggedly on in an area that, though internationally well known, is unfamiliar to them. Yesterday's trials too were made hard-fought by the wind, and the race's jury got busy on a fast sequence of starts, working to finish enough trials to be able to close the qualifications and get to today's final race on time.

Today Circolo Surf Torbole, its president Armando Bronzetti and Alessandra Sensini will award the medals for the winners of this incredible Youth World Championship, which has moved the racers themselves but also their coaches and families. Trento's side of the Garda Lake has again shown itself to be an exceptional showcase, an amazing and surprising place where anything can happen. After two days without wind the competition continued under the rakings of more than one storm, and finally it comes to a close under the aegis of the Ora wind.

Today's events will again be a surprise. Finalists will face the usual course but for an extra final slalom: from twelve they will become six, and of six only three will keep racing. These three will compete again to close the championship and write their name in the youth section of Rs:X Olympic Class's hall of fame. The whole staff from Circolo Surf Torbole has shown great organisational skills, and you can be sure that it's no chance the Mixed Windsurf Championship is going to be held on the Garda Trentino as well. The sports association headed by Bronzetti has also officialised it's candidacy to host the General Rs:X World Championship. Once again Torbole, Circolo Surf Torbole and windsurf come together showing they are one, inseparable whole.

The Defender is unlikely to soften the Rules and allow open season on its sailing team. Despite the shift of three times America's Cup winner, Peter Burling it is understood that there is unlikely to be any softening of the Nationality rule to enable Burling to get any closer to the action than a chase-boat in the 38th America's Cup.
