RS Aero regatta at Haltern am See – Two Days of fresh breezes

by Marcus Cremer on 31 May 2016
Two Days of good sun and fresh breezes - RS Aero - Regatta at Haltern am See Marcus Cremer
12 RS Aero visited at Haltern am See, near Dortmund, Germany, sharing the weekend with the O’Pen Bic Class.

Blessed with two Days of good sun and fresh breezes there were many big smiles evident in the photos. Racing was in ‘7’ rigs with sailors free to decrease to the ‘5’ rig. The German event format is evolving to organise regattas with numerous and not too long races. At Haltern there were eight races of 30 to 35 minutes over two days, scored with two discards after eight races.

Congratulations the Marcus Walther of DSCL, Frankfurt, for taking the win. New owner Juliane Barthel was second overall and first female with 16 year old Felix Cremer in third.

There are only two months now until the first RS Aero European Championships are held at Travemunde Woche, Germany late July.
