Pig Beach exists to chill out and relax under the sun with the pigs

by Melissa Mogollon on 19 Apr 2016
Pig Beach Bella
Guess who’s living in luxury on an island with access to some of most beautiful waters around? It’s not the Kardashians — it’s pigs. Swimming. Feral. Pigs. They even have a hashtag. #PigBeach.

Pig beach is formally known as Big Major Cay and is located in Exuma, Bahamas. The pigs are absurdly friendly. You can literally chill out and relax under the sun with these animals.

You can even lay out with them to get your tan on.

The best part is that absolutely no one knows how the pigs got there. There are three conspiracy theories according to the Internet. The first is that the pigs were dropped off by sailors who planned to come back and eat them but then never did (thank you, sailors). The second is that these pigs survived a shipwreck and were able to swim to shore, making themselves right at home. The third, and frankly our favorite, theory is that the Bahamian government dropped off the pigs as part of some business scheme to attract tourism.

Whatever the truth may be, we are just happy #PigBeach exists.

If you’re interested in visiting the magical pigs, you can find more information here.

Just look at them: young, wild, and free.
