2015 Laser Masters’ World Championships - Day 4

Day four of the Kingston Laser Masters’ World Championships began with heavy winds and overcast skies. The clouds cleared and the temperature increased, reducing the winds to seven - fifteen knots from the North/East and two races were completed by all competitors.

The Apprentice Laser standard division continues to be dominated by Adonis Bougiouris, Greece. He is followed by Matt Blakey, New Zealand, who placed two, one, in today’s races. Great Britain’s Paul Scullion moves up third.

Brett Beyers, Australia, won all races today in the Laser Masters division and remains in first. Ari Barshi, Dominican, sits in second, and United States Peter Hurley is in third.

In the Standard Grand Master division, Peter Shope, United States, sits in first, with a 24 point lead from USA’s Mark Bear. Andrew Roy, Canada, moves up to third and is tied in points with Bear.

Laser Standard Great Grand Master Sailor Mark Bethwaite, Australia, remains in first with South Africa’s Alan Keen in second, and New Zealand’s Robert Blakey in third.



In the Radial Apprentice division New Zealand’s Scott Leith remains in first. Zac Skulander, Australia, remains in second and Steven Smith sits in third. USA’s Keith Davids in the Radial Masters division placed one, four, today to remain in first. Ian Jones, Great Britain, sits in second with Brazil’s Joao Ramos three points behind in third.

Canadian Robert Britten leads the Radial Grand Master division placing three, five, in today’s races. Australia’s Jeff Loosemore sits in second with Canadian Allan Clark moving up into third.

In the Radial Great Grand Master division, Australia’s Robert Lowendes remains in first, with a seven point lead from Bill Symes, United States and Keith Wilkings, Great Britain, sits in third.

In the 75 and over division, USA’s Peter Seidenberg placed one, two today to remain in first. He sits seven points ahead of Canada’s Johan Van Rossem, who won the final race of the day. Michael Shields of New Zealand sits in third.

There will be no racing tomorrow, with racing continuing on Friday, July 17, with the first signal at 1100, and three races scheduled. Come down to Portsmouth Olympic Harbour to see all of the on water action!
