The Superior Jetties team will be exhibiting the various facets of their expertise in flotation, with pontoons and products on show at the 27th Sanctuary Cove International boat Show and the Gold Coast International Marine Expo.

At Expo, visitors will be able to see two hydraulic boat lifts in action, as well as some of the Superior rotomoulded products that make life on the water worthwhile.

Superior will be presenting an array of products including the Capri pontoon, heavy-duty Stand Up Paddleboard (SUPs) ideal for the beginner or commercial market, jetski docks and most impressive of all, a 2.7 tonne and 4.7 tonne Superior Sunstream FloatLift for boats.

John Hogan, CEO of Superior says visitors will be able to actually see how the hydraulics work to remove your boat for storage out of the water using these unsinkable, floating boat lifts.

The 2.7 tonne lift is ideal for 22-foot bowriders and half cabins, while the 4.7 tonne suits boats 28 to 30-foot. The Sunstream FloatLift is the fastest on the market, lifting your boat in 30 seconds and getting it back on the water in just 18 seconds.

The Sunstream FloatLift is designed for fresh or salt water, with an aluminium frame, stainless steel hardware, marine grade hydraulic cylinders with stainless shafts, and marine grade hoses. The rubber-capped SuperBunks are not only durable, but provide the ultimate in cushioned support for your hull.

They are truly a technical marvel, and any wonder, when you realise that its inventor, Ken Hey, created leading aircraft patents for Boeing in Seattle USA. After this phase of his career, Hay was looking for a sturdy, stable floating boat lift and when nothing met his criteria, he developed his own now known as the Sunstream FloatLift, available in Australia through Superior.

“The best thing about a Sunstream FloatLift is the peace of mind owners enjoy when they have their boats out of water,” explains Hogan. “Sunstream works on a hydraulic system, rather than air. The floats are filled with foam, not air, so they remain buoyant at all times. It cannot sink. It’s ingenious!”

Also on display at this year’s event is the R2 model of Superior Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) which will be on sale for a special show price and available for immediate delivery.

Stand Up Paddleboarding is one of the fastest outdoor recreational activities in the world! Designed by Australian surfing legend Dave Verrall, Superior SUPs are rotomoulded polyethylene with foam stiffener, rather than fibreglass, making them very robust – great for families and hire market.

At Sanctuary Cove, Superior will have a stand in the Pantaenius Superyacht Pavilion and a display of its Waterscape-branded furniture selected by Boat Style whose stand will be prominent at the entrance to the pavilion.

Inside, the Superior team will be on hand to demonstrate some of the latest rotomoulded products including the lightweight yet robust MarinaMate trolley, the functional and aesthetic EDGE II handrail system, Seaflex Mooring System, and Waterscape-branded furniture, launched 2 May at the Marine15 industry exhibition and conference, generating significant interest for marinas and other venues.

As Superior CEO John Hogan explains, the system has been designed for flexibility of use. “It’s robust and interconnecting, with a sand-blasted finish to cope with external use and pressure cleaning,” he says. “Each unit has a bracket that locks it into an adjoining structure and the deck itself. They can be bolted down and there is a range of accessories such as ice chests, planter boxes and fabric cushions.”

Sarah Egan, director at Boat Style, has chosen the Waterscape furniture for her own ‘mini salon’ at SCIBS, attracted by its durability and good looks. “I will be exhibiting the latest range of Sunbrella textiles, coordinating linens and other boating lifestyle products, such as Marc Newson Palm Products drinkware.

“The Boat Style space will host a series of informal workshops called ‘Discover Your Style Onboard’ at 11am each day, where people can touch and feel the latest products for alfresco living, on our yachts and in our homes.”

On the water between the latest model Seaplane and the Sea World II research and rescue vessel, Waterscape by Superior will function as an entertainment and hospitality platform during SCIBS. LED-lit at night for maximum ‘wow’ factor, the Waterscape pontoon will be certain to attract plenty of attention, during the day and evening.

Designed and developed by John Hogan and Alexander Lotersztain of Derlot, Waterscape embodies insightful Australian ingenuity, creative flotation solutions and use of recyclable materials.

Anywhere there is a body of still water, Waterscape will extend the usage and enjoyment of the on-water experience. It provides a myriad of applications for yacht clubs, marina precincts, luxury homes and hotels.

Alexander Lotersztain understands the importance of transporting the customer to a place: his designs are innovative, intellectual, philosophical, and pragmatic. “We wanted to stand in the customer’s shoes – to have the conversation, design the solution, and create something versatile and beautiful. Waterscape has allowed us to create an adaptable floating structure that is functional but, at the same time, aesthetic.”

He continues: “Waterscape is design-led. It’s the first product of its kind that responds to what the customer wants and needs in a waterfront lifestyle product. We have created something so alluring and so desirable that, in a moment, the user is transported to a place of peace. Our customers have told us they wanted it and here it is – Waterscape is something you just have to experience!”

From the technical aspect, Waterscape was constructed as a modular flotation system and can be scaled to suit any site. Each module is one square-metre and each has a special connection on top which allows it to secure to the underside of the deck, making it relatively quick to build.

The Waterscape system boasts three different LED options: white light with a transfuser cover on the deck edge shining upwards, for safety as well as aesthetics; RGB multi-coloured system which illuminates the entire fender and can be controlled via smartphone to display its three colours in various patterns; and the third option is an under-fender backlight to reflect off the water.

“You can have any one or all three,” says Hogan. “There is also LED lighting available for the gangway, designed for welcoming, seamless, no-step access for the Waterscape. This lighting really enhances the emotional component of the Waterscape, shimmering off the water and enticing people near it.”

Waterscape by Superior is patented in Australia and ready for domestic and international distribution.
