The event has drawn competitors from 10 territories – Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, China, India and Singapore.

Windsurfers from the region are using the event to prepare for the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian Games (28thSEA Games) to be held in June 2015 in Singapore.
