Ambush- seriously for sale

by Ambush Marketing on 4 Nov 2014
St Regis International China Coast Regatta 2012 - day 3 - Ambush Guy Nowell http://www.guynowell.com
Ambush came out of McConaghy’s yard in Xuhai in time for the 2008 China Coast Regatta which she promptly won, and since then has amassed an impressive set of battle honours from the blustery long distance Hong Kong-Vietnam Race to the short, sharp cans and islands races of the HHYC Typhoon Series.

She was in the vanguard of the current Asia fleet of 40-footers, often referred to as the Furious Forties on account of the high level of competition, and is a familiar sight at many of the international 'Asian Circuit' regattas.

Ambush is one of Hong Kong’s most successful racing yachts and would be extremely competitive in any IRC fleet globally. She is offered at the exceptionally attractive price of USD240,000.

The custom design was developed by Mark Mills as a progression from Tiamat/Ngoni/Mandrake and the King 40 with input from the present owners who have very extensive offshore racing experience. The boat was a custom build by McConaghy and the sail programme was designed and developed by Dave Ullman (who also tuned the boat and sailed on it).

Ambush was designed to be not only a hot competitor on the racetrack, but also with just enough creature comforts for some weekend cruising in Hong Kong waters.

She is currently configured with a pole and a rating of 1.157 which has proven to be a very potent set up inshore against the newer breed of lighter 40-footers. The boat has been professionally maintained from new by a full time boat boy and is presented in immaculate condition. Lying Hong Kong, deliverable anywhere in Asia or can be shipped worldwide. Offered price USD240,000

A look at The Ocean Cleanup and its the 30 Cities Program The cliche goes that one should avoid meeting one's heroes, as there's always a chance that the flesh-and-blood person might not live up to expectations. While I've never met Boyan Slat, I'd gladly take this risk.
