ACT Optimist Championship - Set off this weekend in Canberra

Over 80 of Australia’s next sailing champions will take part in the Capital Insurance Brokers ACT Optimist Championship on Lake Burley Griffin 15th and 16th October. The regatta will cater for all types of sailing from open and silver to kids learning the ropes in the Green fleet.

All this racing will be held 20 meters off the Canberra Yacht Club for great spectator viewing. With lots of things to do in Canberra use some of the off-time to see the sights of Canberra.

You can register on the NSW Optimist web site or turn up on the day for the regatta here.

Regatta Coaching

The Canberra Yacht Club and the NSW Optimist Association have joined forces to make sure the weekend is a fun, great racing and with great Opti coaches help each sailor to progress to the next level.

Super Coach’s Lizzy Roundtree and Rob Brewer will be on hand to conduct clinics for all sailors during the weekend.

• Friday 4pm-6pm. Pre Regatta on Water Training Session.
• Saturday 9:45. 'Set your Opti Up for racing' - then on water advise and support.
• Sunday 9:45. 'Understand Your Race Course' - then on water advice and support.

Thanks to our friends at North Sails There will be a lucky draw of a North Sails Opti sail and lots of Ronstan prizes during the weekend.
