Superior will be attending this year’s METS trade show in Amsterdam, 18 to 20 November, and entering the company’s new Waterscape product in the prestigious DAME Awards.

Running since 1988, the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) exhibition in Amsterdam a trade-only event which boasts three specialised pavilions and over 18 country pavilions, with 1,320 exhibitors from 39 countries presenting the latest marine products and services.

METS attracts global leaders and industry professionals, a total last year of 20,500 visitors, and is a vital forum for networking.

Pundits agree, METS sets the tone for the year ahead for maritime equipment suppliers.

John Hogan, CEO at Superior says the event is the 'definitive meeting place for the global marine industry' and well-worth the investment in terms of travel, personnel and product.

'This will be our seventh METS as an exhibitor and this year, we will be part of the AIMEX stand in Hall 11,' he continues. 'We are aiming to secure limited dealerships with companies or individuals, as we offer a high value proposition to our partners.'

Superior will be exhibiting its credentials in marinas, pontoons and custom-made rotomoulded products, as well as showcasing its Waterscape project, a world-first commercial and domestic adaptive floating system (AFS).

The brainchild of Hogan and designer, Alexander Lotersztain at Derlot Pty Ltd, Waterscape shines the spotlight on the 'water appeal' of a home or venue. Street appeal is a commonly recognised real estate and architectural concept; water appeal is an underestimated asset. Waterscape now fills that niche and has a value proposition where the floating surface extends the waterfront.

Launched at the 2014 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show to much acclaim, Waterscape will be the ideal product to exhibit and promote at METS, where innovation is always at the forefront.

'We believe Waterscape will have global appeal in many markets and that it will be well received at METS.
'We have entered Waterscape in this year’s DAME Awards, which recognise excellence and innovation in design.'
The DAME Awards are acknowledged as the pinnacle of recognition for a marine industry product and are keenly contested by inventors, engineers and designers from all over the world.

In 2009, Superior was a DAME finalist for its Superior fender system, praised for its ability to provide differing degrees of impact absorption for various marine applications.

'The DAME Awards are worthwhile, not only for propelling your product to an international market, but also for encouraging R&D across the industry, from electronics and componentry to composites and accessories,' Hogan states. 'Organisers, METS RAI dedicate a gallery section to the winners, showcasing them on a pedestal to emphasise their achievement.'

There is also a charitable element. As in previous years, the DAME Awards registration fee will be donated to a worthy cause. For 2014, it is ensuring sustainable water access for the Masai in Kajiado, Kenya. This project focuses on a reduction in the number of water-related diseases by improving access to safe drinking water for local 50,000 people.
Another key factor at METS is the opportunity for networking. A new 'online introductions' has been added this year, designed to facilitate and maximise the process.

Companies or individuals wishing to meet with John Hogan during METS on Stand number 11.724 can get in touch now via the METS website or with John direct via email jhogan@superiorjetties.com

For over 25 years, Superior has provided high-quality marine flotation and industrial products via local and international dealers. Known as an innovative, design-led company, Superior is not only a market leader for marine berthing applications, but also an established and respected supplier of mining and industrial projects.
